Heroin Statistics & Facts

The reality regarding heroin use and the statistics on heroin addiction are widely known, as heroin has been researched for more than a century. Heroin, or diacetylmorphine, is a semi-synthetic opiate derived from morphine. Originally developed to be a “non-addictive” morphine alternative. The history of heroin addictionhas shown that not long after becoming available to the public, the drug’s monumental potential for addiction became clear. “Heroin” was actually the brand name given to the drug by the maker, Bayer.

Then Heroin became a symbol of non-conformity within the Rock n Roll and Artist communities, and it has vacillated in popularity ever since that time, among all races.
