Dave attended York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and for many years, he ran a successful business. Dave collaboratively built Transitional Living Corporation in Wickenburg, Arizona. From Program Director to Interim CEO, Dave became an expert in residential treatment, focusing on young adults. Dave’s passion and purpose in life has been and is mentoring young people in getting clean and sober and staying that way. Dave has created the adventure program, Blueprints’ vocational training program, and the garden project. He continually inspires our residents to create meaningful lives. Dave Birchall brings his knowledge, expertise, and love of helping others to Blueprints for Recovery and has already begun transforming lives here.
Rodney was with Gatehouse Academy for over 5 years, until their recent closing. He began his treatment career as a Residential Technician, then as an Admissions Coordinator, a Residential Director, a Family Communications Manager, and finally, the Program Director. His Bachelor’s degree is in Health Care Management. Rodney brings a tremendous amount of heart to his work; and also, an impeccable integrity to the business side of treatment. Mr. Zimmers brings art and music to the program, along with recovery related outings and 12-step literature studies. He has an enormous commitment to addiction recovery. “I truly believe that long-term treatment gives the addict his best chance for recovery and a new healthy life. The addict needs time, lots of time, in a safe and sober environment to survive and then thrive.
Serena Carlin
Interventionist, Counselor, BHT, and Neurofeedback Specialist
Serena Comes to Blueprints for Recovery with a wealth of experience, knowledge, and talent. Having spent over six years working for Gatehouse Academy, She has flown all over the country facilitating interventions with families and convincing young people to commit to treatment. Serena has worked closely with clients and their families, coaching parents in new, healthy relational patterns to best assist their loved ones in treatment. As Assistant Program Director she was responsible for the day to day operations of the 70-bed facility. Serena brings tools for moving deeply into the recovery process, including tutoring, for those seeking their GEDs or those desiring a new start at college. She teaches cooking and highlights the importance of good nutrition as treatment for the body, mind, and spirit. Moreover, our clients flock to Serena for her warmth, wisdom, and frank ability to convey recovery concepts. Serena has brought Neurofeedback to Blueprints for Recovery and is excited to offer our young people this cutting edge treatment.

Bonnie has been working in the addiction treatment field for over 20 years as a therapist. Bonnie specializes in addiction, co-dependency, and chronic relapse. Bonnie has a gentle way of confronting addictive behavior while still demonstrating compassion with her clients. Bonnie puts a great emphasis on relapse prevention and incorporates Solution Focused Brief Therapy in her work with the clients.

Todd specializes in interventions, life coaching, and management & human capital consulting. Todd knows how to guide families and individuals struggling with addiction toward solutions. His passion is to bring new energy and ideas to individuals, families, and organizations in order to help them grow and prosper.
Ann Balowski
Recovery Life Coach, Equine Assisted Coach
Ann brings over 30 years of personal experience and training to clients, families and facilities. She has contributed in settings which include, The Meadows and Burning Tree. Her love of working with those young in recovery has been a motivating factor and is demonstrated in the basic life skills topics that are so necessary for clients in early recovery. Ann calls upon a background in Human Resources, Training, 12 Step Recovery, Chemical Dependency, Family and Relationship Dynamics.
Janice Witt, MA – Addiction, Trauma, and Neurofeedback Specialist
Janice has been helping addicts and alcoholics to recover for the past 22 years. She has specializations in Addiction, Trauma, Neurofeedback, and Applied Neuro-technology. Janice received her Master’s degree from Pacific Oaks College, followed by a year of post-graduate studies at Pacifica Graduate Institute. She completed a two-year program at the New Center for Psychoanalysis, and then went on to the Doctoral Program at Ryokan College in West Los Angeles. She interned for 2 years at the Lighthouse Trauma Training Center and has attended the annual UCLA Attachment/Trauma program for eight years. Janice has been a part of the Grof Transpersonal Training program Since 2001.
She was trained in Neurofeedback from one of the pioneers in both eeg biofeedback and the Neurofeedback/Addiction Studies: Bill Scott. She was later certified by EEG Spectrum in 2010. Janice’s primary philosophy regarding the treatment of addiction and addictive disorders is: Heal the body (brain), Mind, Emotions, and Spirit.
