Tapering is really the best way to experience withdrawal from Xanax. Doctors recommend doing this over a period of eight weeks under supervision. Tapering may take longer than suddenly quitting but minimizes the risks of stopping quickly. Tapering also provides time to find alternative treatments for anxiety and other symptoms.
