Nutrition Therapy
Blueprints for Recovery offers weekly nutrition lectures associated with a cooking class. The lectures will include topics such as: how different foods have an impact on clients’ general mood, how nutrition can help heal the physical effects caused by drug and/or alcohol addiction and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle through nutrition. Once a month the clients will participate in a trivia challenge based on the topics covered in the lectures, followed by a cook off. The cook off challenge allows the clients to put their knowledge of cooking skills to the test. The cooking class help clients’ create a low-cost, high-nutritional meal plans. Individual client nutrition assessments are offered as need be, as well as, individual meal planning. We believe in a holistic approach to healing and nutrition is an important part of that approach.
Cooking classes are performed by Natalie Boggs. Natalie has her B.A. in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College and is currently receiving her Masters in Nutrition Therapy from the Nutrition Therapy Institute. She works as a nutrition assistant and educator for CAN (Center of Addiction Nutrition), located in Prescott AZ.
